BATU PAHAT: Chinese High School Batu Pahat (CHSBP) has unveiled a brand-new AI curriculum. In the upcoming school year, first-year students will be among the first to commence their AI education journey with two major thematic courses: “AI Experience Camp” and “Python Basics 1.”

The school recently engaged in comprehensive discussions and consultations with Zhong Cheng and Li Liang, AI education experts from China’s “doctorpai”. This collaboration has culminated in the official introduction of advanced AI technology into the school’s curriculum, heralding a new era of technological innovation for the institution.

Attendees of the information exchange meeting includes Gan Thiam Chai, treasurer of the Board of Director of the school; Ng Sing Yian, executive secretary of the board; and teachers Fong Chun Chai, Tong Lung Kit, and Liew Khing Weng.

Principal Soo Boon Teong of Chinese High School issued a press release today, announcing that the school is set to integrate the AI course into its curriculum. This integration will evolve progressively from Form 1 to Form 5. Students enrolled in these courses will be asked to pay an additional fee of RM 20 per month.

He said the school would schedule AI classes for first-year students twice a week, each lasting 35 minutes. These classes will encompass four core categories: general education, experiential learning, practical application, and design & development courses.

“Students will acquire programming knowledge, including variables, branching structures, loops, and lists, by engaging in projects like intelligent voice technology, face recognition applications, and drowsiness detection program development. This hands-on approach aims to simultaneously foster a keen interest in programming and AI among the students.”
